I wanted to share some very cute pictures. 1st of Lauren, then of Anna, taken this past month before going to see another Symphony.

Well, let's see where to start. Being that it has been over 2 months since my last update.
We had a wonderful Christmas, but I will admit, it felt "rushed" and busier than normal. Christmas is the one time of year where I believe families should be able to relax, enjoy the season, be thankful for what we have and enjoy time with family members. Unfortunately in these times, everyone is a rush to do everything.
New Years went off without a bang. I think we all fell asleep before the new year (as usual).
Now for some good and enjoyable news to write about. Lauren tried out and made the Greenville County Band. Only 13 flute players were chosen, so it was a very tough audition. I don't think I EVER saw Lauren so nervous, but she pulled it off. Lauren also ended her trimester with a fantastic report card, the best of the year. This Trimester she is going to be in ART so it should be a bit more enjoyable as music and art are fun subjects for her.
Anna is also doing very well in school with very good testing and grades. She also enjoys music and art, thus always bringing drawings and such for me to pin by my computer.
Luckily both of the children like Classical music.
Sheila has been very busy with work and helping to keep the kids in line. From personal experience, it isn't an easy job at times.
Well, I hope everyone has a great 2010, and I hope our country gets its "Mojo" back. I hate to see so many good people being worked to death, or laid off, it is just Un American. There is nothing wrong with hard work, as long as the reward is equivalent to the sacrifices one has to endure. Take care and I wish you a prosperous and happy 2010.

This was a wonderful day. It started by going out to dinner with my family to celebrate Julia Rossi's concert and ended by me taking Anna and Lauren to see the Greenville Symphony Orchestra perform:
WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART: Serenade No. 10, K. 361, B-flat major "Gran Partita"
W. A. MOZART: The Impressario Overture, K. 486
W. A. MOZART: Symphony No. 39, K. 543, E-flat major
I have to award conductor Edvard Tchivzhel for performing these pieces of work with vigor and a nearly flawless performance. Lauren and I were captivated at how well the Orchestra performed, Anna, though only 6 years old, sat for 2 full hours and actually enjoyed the music. I would glance over at Anna and she was pretending to conduct the orchestra, trying to follow the Conductor.
Lastly, let me wish my Wife Sheila Ceremuga, and my little sister Paula Rossi a very happy Birthday!

We had an exciting weekend. Lauren and I went to the Sprint Cup NASCAR race on Saturday night with Paul. I have to tell you, the weather may have been cold, but the drivers were fast and the racing was wicked. My daughter Lauren liked it so much that she wishes to attend another race.
I've been skeptical about the COT since they started racing it. But, being there in person, the racing is as good, if not better than the older car. The only thing we don't like are the cookie cutter personalities of NASCAR. I believe that is why we pull for Tony Stewart and Mark Martin. They are not your GQ models and corporate spokesman. They are genuine.
I wish to thank Paul and Nancy for a wonderful weekend, and the chance to see a look of pure amazement from my daughter was worth every cent. Thanks again!

I just wanted to congratulate Lauren for her nearly perfect interim report card, and also performing her Flute well enough to be rated 2nd chair for all grades and 1st chair for her grade. You see, Lauren took no lessons. She did this ALL on her own. She is growing up to be more pleasant and well rounded than I could have dreamed. I'm so proud of Lauren.
Anna, though a complete 2 person chore to get out of bed in the morning (poor girl and her hurting feet) is also doing extremely well in school. Adapting to the challenges of being in the 1st grade very well. Anna has an extremely sweet demeanor and makes my heart fill with warmth, just watching her play.
I had lunch with Dan today. Why is that noteworthy? Because we never find the time to get together as brothers. It is amazing how such a simple thing, that takes an hour, can turn my day from dull to bright. I love my big brother.
Paula even called and checked in on us. Though our family goes in many directions, I feel that we are turning an important corner in our relationships with each other. I'm starting to FEEL some genuine effort from all of us to reach out and check on each other. Call me a softy, but it makes me very happy.
Mom and Dad (Paul and Nancy) are doing ok. Dad is keeping himself active, and also attending some very fun motor sports activities. Mother enjoys going to visit Lynn. Who wouldn't! She lives in a paradise house that is peaceful and has the peace of the ocean right outside the front door.
To close. I love you Brothers and Sisters. Thanks for checking in on everyone and showing that we are all in touch with each other.
There, I had my "good moments" post of the month. Enjoy.

Anna had her surgery and everything turned out ok. She will have to go back to have one more small surgery, then she should be ok.
School has started for both of my daughters, and as usual, rough start. Hard to wake up, etc. :)
Other than that, we are doing fine and hope everyone is enjoying the end of another summer. I look forward to the cool breezes of fall.

It's been an interesting week. We are getting the kids ready for school, of course that means new clothes, supplies, etc. I'm glad Sheila is organizing it all.
Anna has her minor surgery on Aug 14th, so she'll have a week to recover before school. Lauren is in good shape, just enjoying time with her friends, both online and in person.
It amazes me how much new technologies promote anti-social behavior in kids. They now text, face book, my space, etc. God forbid they talk on the phone, or get together and go see a movie. I see kids sitting a few seats apart, texting each other! I guess the next thing human beings will evolve into are beings without vocal chords. I'm not letting my kids get cell phones, not until there is a dire need.
Seeing how kids behave today makes me appreciate the timeframe that I grew up. The only technology was a TV and Stereo. We spent our time outside playing with friends. I use to think that technology bettered our lives, in many ways it has. The amount of information we can get from being "connected" is fantastic. It allows for people to become educated on issues that they would normally have problems researching. On the other end of the spectrum, people are getting "dumbed down". I don't know what the future holds, but a little less "online" might be good for everyone.
(That was my rant of the week) :)

I finally received a response from the Czech Radio Archives and am in the process of attaining 38 pieces of work from composer Josef Ceremuga. I am having very little luck at this time researching his family tree. Josef lost his sight and secluded himself from public life in 1989, this may have included his immediate family. As far as I can find, he did not marry. As you may notice, he spent much time in Russia, thus his work and recordings are spread out between two countries.
Dear Mr. Ceremuga,
there are 38 recordings of Josef Ceremuga in the Czech Radio
Archive available for listening. You can find the list of them
here:
http://www2.rozhlas.cz/archivy/index.php?query&aut=Josef+Ceremuga
If You want to listen these recordings in the Prague Czech Radio
contact please Mrs. Ivana Zuranova - phone +420 22 155 3310,
e-mail: ivana.zuranova@rozhlas.cz .
If You want to get the copies of the recordings contact please
Mrg. Dana Rubasova - phone +420 22 155 1341, e-mail:
dana.rubasova@rozhlas.cz .
Other recordings in the Czech Radio Archive were made by other
companies so we are not allowed to afford them.
Best Regards

Just an update on the family. Everyone is fine. Anna is having a great time and thoroughly enjoying summer vacation. Her new infatuation is Scooby Doo. How cute is that! Lauren started her Flute lessons, and now that she is on her second lesson, it is getting a bit tougher. A good challenge to keep her skills improving.
Here is a picture of Anna Ceremuga and Dad (David Ceremuga) after Anna did one of her "sneak up on me" deals and hopped on my back. She loves to hang on my back for some reason, it is cute.

Lauren spent a week with Paul and Nancy. Lauren really enjoyed herself. Lauren will be turning 12 on the 10th. It is difficult to see my baby girl grow up so fast. Happy Birthday Lauren! This would be a good time to talk a bit about Lauren. To the left is Lauren at age 4, to the right is age 12.
Interests: Classical Music, Pop Music, Rock. Playing the Flute and possibly marching band. Loves animals of all kinds, particularly fond of smaller animals such as dogs, cats, and smaller animals such as hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, etc. She loves to read, especially action type novels such as: Harry Potter series, Twilight, etc. Enjoys chatting with friends and sharing their interests in today's pop culture icons.
I have started researching the history of a Czechoslovakia composer Josef Ceremuga. He composed classical music starting at the age of 11. He lived from 1930 to 2005. I am hopefully going to be able to attain some of his work and family history. It seems he had a decent career, with some notable compositions. I will update you all as I find out more information.

I have added a "jukebox" to the site which will allow my family to share their favorite music with our guests. The current lineup consists of 5 nice numbers from Mozart: Morning with Mozart. To scroll through the songs, simply click the forward or back button. We will be expanding our music and allow users to pick songs from a true "jukebox" interface.

I notice quite a few visitors from around the world. If you are a Ceremuga, I would appreciate an email. I would like to try and dig deeper into our family tree. It would also be interesting to see what countries other Ceremuga families reside, along with their family history. Email me: david@ceremuga.com

David (me) and Sheila Ceremuga celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary today. We had a nice dinner and evening together.

Happy 50th Anniversary Paul and Nancy Ceremuga

For now, Lauren and Anna are enjoying their summer vacation. We go swimming often at Dan's, and they are nice enough to accommodate us.
Lauren is progressing with her Flute and is finally taking lessons. It is about time we put her into some formal training. Her skills with the Flute are excellent, and naturally we need to help her move to the next level.
Nancy and Paul Ceremuga are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with all of the family. I should have some pictures which I'll process for the web, come mid July.
Other than those few things, not much going on that is note worthy. I think that is a good thing. Everyone is healthy.
Enjoy the summer!
